Segregating America is a new animated video by Richard Rothstein, author of The Color of Law. The compelling short film tells the story of how the United States government conspired with state and local authorities to demolish thriving integrated communities and replace them with new segregated communities.

The new communities for Whites were gifted with low interest loans and generous tax incentives. The new African American communities offered only high interest financing with unfavorable terms. African American communities were also under serviced, poorly maintained, aggressively policed, and had hazardous environmental facilities located near or within their borders. All this was by done deliberately and with the full compliance of various federal, state, and local government and law enforcement agencies.
